The Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in Clyde, Missouri, have a job opening for a full-time housekeeper for the main house of the monastery.

JOB DESCRIPTION: HOUSEKEEPER

Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Full-time employment includes the following benefits: health insurance after 60 days of employment, dental and vision after 90 days, PTO after six months, 403(b) retirement savings and employer contributions after one year, and optional AFLAC. The Benedictine Sisters pay 100 percent of medical and dental benefits (i.e. monthly premiums) for full-time employees. Pay starts at $12.30 per hour.

Job Summary:

Clean designated areas throughout the monastery, and cleaning includes - but is not limited to - dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning windows and bathrooms;

Perform light maintenance tasks including - but not limited to - changing light bulbs, tightening screws, etc.;

Develop a schedule that assures regular maintenance of all areas assigned;

Provide laundry services as assigned;

Dispose of trash;

Clean windows and blinds as needed;

Report broken equipment and furniture for repair or replacement;

Notify the supervisor when cleaning supplies need to be restocked;

Make note of areas that need attention; and

Perform other duties assigned by supervisor from time to time.

Requirements:

Must be able to pass a background screening and drug test;

Manage time well and prioritize needs;

Tolerate exposure to various cleaning detergents;

Lift 25 to 50 without restrictions on occasion;

Operate related cleaning machinery (floor scrubber, vacuum, etc.);

Be available for occasional flexible hours;

Tolerate standing for long periods;

Must be able to frequently bend, stoop, twist and climb; and

Use a ladder.
