The Adoration Chapel was filled with the lovely sounds of choral music during a public concert to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the foundation of the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in America.

The April concert, which featured the talents of Northwest Missouri State University’s student Tower Choir and the Northwest Brass Ensemble, featured choral pieces such as Benjamin Britten’s “Rejoice in the Lamb” and Franz Joseph Haydn’s “Little Organ Mass.” Several guest artists also performed, including musician Dr. Ling Lo and mezzo-soprano Rachel Day.

Hearing the stunning combination of the near-perfect acoustics in our chapel with the beautiful choir voices and instruments was a spectacular experience,” Sister Lynn Marie D’Souza said. “We were delighted that so many friends could join us for this special 150th anniversary celebration. We hope that the memory of this concert and their time with us stays with them because we know it was an unforgettable event for us.”

Sister Sophia Becker, OSB concurred. “What a lovely sound in our chapel and I am sure it made God smile,” she said. “The vocalists and musicians filled our space with delightful music. The singers' voices were outstanding, and our chapel rang with praises. The musicians' precision added layers and layers of resonation that kept me in awe.”
