Facilitator and author Denise Simeone (standing) recently spearheaded a leadership seminar for area women religious, including several members of the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration.

CLYDE, Mo. – Several members of the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration joined others in Region 13 of the Leadership Conference of Women Religious for a leadership seminar held Oct. 14-16 at the Sisters of Charity in Leavenworth, Kan.

The seminar focused on the core values of a spiritual leader, leadership practices such as patience, listening, courage and humility, utilizing sisters’ gifts and the importance of being yourself as an instrument of God, said participant Sister Nancy Rose Gucwa, OSB.

“I loved the quote that was shared, ‘There is no one right way to be a leader,’” Sister Nancy Rose said. “We learned that relational leaders empower people.”

The event was facilitated by author Denise Simeone, a consultant in long-range planning and mission development. Also attending from the Benedictine Sisters were Sister Maria Victoria Cutaia, OSB, Sister Lynn Marie D’Souza, OSB and Postulant Erma Relunia.
