Benedictine Sister Lynn Marie D'Souza, OSB, recently completed a two-year program that helps create spiritual mentors who will inspire others to grow and develop their own prayer lives.

Sponsored by the Apostles of the Interior Life, a religious community, and the School of Faith, an Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas catechesis program, the program is designed for laity and religious men and women who wish to deepen their spiritual lives and help others do the same. Sister Lynn Marie's class included about 70 participants.

The program includes online coursework and four weeklong residential sessions held at the Savior Pastoral Center in Kansas City, Kansas. According to Sister Lynn Marie, some of the topics covered are salvation history, catechism of the Catholic Church, virtues, prayer and spirituality, the life of Christ, the sacraments and discernment.

"I was really grateful to attend this program," Sister Lynn Marie said. "It has helped me teach those in formation about how to pray with Scripture and to share about our faith better. It was also wonderful to meet so many people who are serious about their faith and who want to share it with others."

Sister Lynn Marie is a member of the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in Clyde, Mo., and serves as the congregation's formation director.
