Benedictine Sister Lupita Barajas, OSB served on a vocation panel hosted by Lourdes Catholic School in Nogales, Ariz.
Sister Lupita, who attended school at Lourdes, joined another panelist, a nun who teaches at the school, in a presentation about religious life. Although the high school-aged students are bilingual, they expressed a preference in using Spanish during the panel.
“It was very easy to conduct the proceedings in Spanish,” said Sister Lupita, a fluent speaker of the language. “All the girls came together, and they had many great questions.”
Sister Lupita added that she felt it was informative for the participants to hear about two different types of religious life - apostolic and contemplative.
Sister Lupita is a member of the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration and lives at the congregation's Tucson, Ariz., monastery where she serves as vocation director. |
