The Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration are looking to fill a full-time baker/mechanical position (lay employee) in the Altar Bread Department at their Clyde, Missouri, monastery.
The Benedictine Sisters have been producting altar breads for more than a century and are one of the largest religious producers of communion hosts.
Position requirements: 1) a working knowledge of maintenance of baking equipment (some training will be provided), 2) be able to lift 50 lbs. or more without restriction, and 3) good hand-to-eye coordination.
Duties include: 1) preparing and mixing bread batter using industrial equipment, 2) operating a specialized baker that produces wafer-like sheets, and 3) a variety of other productions tasks throughout the day.
