The Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in Clyde, Missouri, has an opening for a Nursing Aide/Housekeeper at Our Lady of Rickenbach, the Congregation's health care facility.
It is a full-time day shift (6 a.m. - 2 p.m.) and offers full benefits.
Duties include:

Physical care of sisters includes: shower, oral care, hair care and toileting

Emotional care of Sisters includes: encouraging independence, showing them respect, taking time with them, frequent visits to check on them
-
Care of Sisters social needs includes: talk with them at mealtime, visit them, stroll outside or in hall, engage Sisters in conversations and activities
-
Assists or transports Sisters to any activities
-
Answer call lights
-
Practice good hand-washing techniques after each patient contact
-
Change bed linens and keep rooms neat and orderly; maintain a clean, neat and orderly work environment
-
Deliver meals and snacks to Sisters
-
Feed or assist Sisters to eat, giving them individual attention
-
Give Range of Motion exercises when indicated
-
Prepare Sisters for trips to doctor, bathing and dressing in clean clothing
-
Empty and clean commodes or bedpans after use
-
Rinse soiled c-pads and diapers as necessary
-
Stock resident rooms and supply area as needed
-
Report to Charge Nurse concerning each Sister
-
Responsible for Sister’s personal laundry
-
May be required to transport Sisters to physician
-
Clean designated areas throughout the facility (eg. bedrooms, bathrooms, shower rooms, rest rooms, chapel, activity areas, etc); cleaning includes, but is not limited to, dusting, sweeping, mopping and vacuuming

Empty trash cans and properly dispose of trash

Supply rooms with toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, deodorizers, soap, etc. as needed

Handle and sort soiled laundry
-
Follow protocol for handling and caring for laundry

Change the trash bags in the soiled linen carts each day
-
Rinse the soiled laundry cart each day
-
Keep linen cart covers clean
-
Keep linen closets neat and straightened up at all times
-
Feed and water the birds in the aviary and order supplies for them as needed
Requirements:

Must be able to pass a drug test
-
Lift without restrictions 25-50 lbs.

Ability to work well with others and be able to multi-task

Have good communication skills

Demonstrate compassion toward elderly

Can take instructions from others

Have the physical ability to bend, reach, push, kneel and twist and stand

Tolerate exposure to various cleaning chemicals and detergents

Operate related machinery (e.g. carpet extractor, vacuum cleaner, clothes washer & dryer, etc.)

Use a ladder
