The Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in Clyde, Missouri, have an LPN position open at Our Lady of Rickenbach, the congregation's healthcare facility for elder Sisters.

The LPN works as the Charge Nurse and is responsible for all nursing care given on that shift, assessing the nursing needs of the Sister residents and making necessary decisions regarding their care.  This nurse must have a license in the State of Missouri.

Essential Functions:

  • oversee the care given by the nursing staff (including NAs, CNAs, CMTs, Med Level 1s)
  • report problems to the nursing supervisor
  • check on the condition of the Sister residents early in the shift and make nursing decisions related to their care.  
  • report important information about each Sister resident to the nursing supervisor and call the Sister administrator if a Sister resident's condition warrants it
  • chart significant changes in Sister resident's condition
  • participate in the daily patient care of the Sister residents which includes bathing, grooming, feeding, activities, etc.
  • participate in nursing care of the Sister residents which includes oral care, toileting, changing bed linens, keeping rooms orderly, etc.
  • administer medicines and treatments as ordered by the physician or indicated by Sister resident's need
  • follow policies in observing safety and infection control practice
  • use proper body techniques in lifting, bending or stooping
  • coordinate workflow and staff breaks/meal times on the shift
  • stock Sister resident rooms and supply areas as necessary  
  • report needed supplies
  • maintain a clean, neat and orderly working environment
  • may be asked to transport Sister residents to appointments, etc.
  • perform duties required of nursing assistant

 Requirements:

  • license to practice nursing in the State of Missouri
  • should be IV certified to draw blood
  • pass a drug screening test
  • skills to supervise a staff of two to ten  
  • multi-tasking skills
