Over four decades ago, Benedictine Sister of Perpetual Adoration Nancy Rose Gucwa, OSB joined other women in making history at the United States Military Academy at West Point.
They were members of the first class that included female cadets, and this year the academy published a retrospective article in “The Pointer View,” highlighting the 40th anniversary of their graduation. Sister Nancy Rose was one of the cadets who was interviewed for the article.
“There was also a documentary produced by high school students for National History Day called ‘Breaking Barriers: The First Women at West Point,’” Sister Nancy Rose said. “It was well done.”
The documentary can be viewed online at https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=1229810437362618.
