Novice Amberina, who entered the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in 2023, was welcomed into her canonical novitiate during a ritual at Vespers on June 7 in the congregation’s Adoration Chapel in Clyde, Missouri.

The canonical year is a requirement of the Catholic Church, taken before an individual makes her profession of vows. Its purpose is to enable the novice to discern the will of God through instruction, spiritual guidance and lived experience of a particular Benedictine lifestyle in preparation for the profession of vows.
