Altar Bread Department Operations Manager

Benedictine Sisters Altar Bread Department in Clyde, MO

Duties and responsibilities 

The Benedictine Sisters are looking for an Operations Manager to direct and oversee the production and operational activities of their Altar Bread department and improve the productivity and efficiency of the department. The Altar Bread department produces communion hosts for use in the Catholic Mass and Protestant religious services.  Duties include planning and directing department production and operations; scheduling and directing work assignments of staff members; ensuring accurate and timely order fulfillment; marketing; customer service;  and financial functions. 

An ideal candidate will need to have management/supervisory experience; an ability to manage many and varied tasks and functions; an ability to frequently exercise judgment and initiative; and effectively motivate and hold accountable Department staff.

Principle Responsibilities

  •  Implement, oversee or directly manage operational plan
  •  Develop annual budget and monitor revenue and expense spending throughout the year
  •  Analyze production and accounting data
  • Reconcile budget and expense statements
  • Management of inventory
  • Oversee equipment maintenance
  • Sustain quality control program
  • Help recruit, select, and train new employees
  • Support sales and marketing activities
  • Work hands on with the production employees within the production process.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a Supervisor/Manager role in a production process
  • Familiar with budgets and expense spending

  • Organizational and administration skills

 

Qualifications preferred

  • Bachelors degree in business administration/related field and/or proven years of manager/supervisory experience in production 
  • Knowledge of business and management principles and practices
