Religious Sisters from the Midwest attended a regional workshop sponsored by the Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious in March at St. James Catholic Church in St. Joseph, Missouri.

Several members of the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration recently attended a regional workshop sponsored by the Council of Major Superiors of Women Religious on March 7 at St. James Catholic Church in St. Joseph, Missouri.

The event featured Mother Mary Christa Nutt, RSM who presented “Free for Christ: Religious Obedience and Thomistic Moral Theology,” covering the theme of her book with the same title.

From the BSPA in attendance were Sister Ruth Elaine Starman, OSB; Sister Wilmarie Ehrhardt, OSB, Sister Nancy Rose Gucwa, OSB; and Novice Amberina.

“It was great to meet Sisters from communities in Nebraska and Kansas as we gathered for this workshop,” Sister Ruth Elaine said. “Mother Mary Christa offered us much food for thought from the theology of St. Thomas Aquinas about intellect, will and freedom of choice.”
