The Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration welcomed Rosa Cruz into its novitiate during evening Vespers on Monday, Jan. 6, in their Adoration Chapel of the Clyde, Mo., community.
Novice Rosa, who entered the postulancy a year ago during Advent season, will immerse herself more fully into monastic life. The second year of the novitiate is designated as the canonical year when she will observe stricter enclosure in order to continue her religious discernment and study the Benedictine vows in preparation for her first monastic profession.
Novice Rosa was a resident of San Luis, Ariz., before she entered the Benedictine Sisters in 2012. She is a graduate of the University of Arizona, having earned a bachelor's degree in psychology. |
