Members of the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration joined representatives of other religious communities and lay people throughout Kansas and Missouri in the Serra Club of the Greater Kansas City area’s eighth annual Blisters for Sisters charity walk on Saturday in Leawood, Kansas.

Sister Nancy Rose Gucwa, OSB, Sister Ruth Elaine Starman, OSB and Sister Wilmarie Ehrhardt, OSB attended the event, which included the walk, Mass and lunch at the Church of the Nativity. The day’s purpose is to honor women who have answered God’s call to religious life and who serve the world in a variety of fields, including Catholic education, health services, production of Church goods and contemplative prayer.

The Serra Club is an international organization that supports vocations to the priesthood and religious life. Proceeds from Blisters for Sisters are split among the religious communities that participate.
