Several members of the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration spent time earlier this month in retreat with Father Albert Bruecken, OSB of Conception Abbey.
Group conferences centered on the gift of the Eucharist and explored the history and types of sacrifices, including the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus. Father Albert also discussed forgiveness and humility and wrapped up with a lecture on Chapter 72 of the Rule of Benedict, which details the importance of a monk's good zeal.
The retreat also included four days of silent reflection for the Sisters and private consultations with Father Albert. Those who participated in the silent retreat included Sister Sophia Becker, OSB, Sister Sean Douglas, OSB, Sister Laurentia Doyle, OSB, Sister Nancy Rose Gucwa, OSB, Sister Louise Gertrude Kuborn, OSB, Sister Deanna Maria Pavone, OSB and Sister Cathleen Marie Timberlake, OSB. |
