The Tucson, Arizona, community of Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration hosted the inaugural Community Health Awareness Fair in September.
The event was sponsored by the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service, which is dedicated to improving and protecting the public health of people living in the United States. The fair, which was open to the public, included screenings for blood pressure, blood sugar levels, weight and BMI, and medication reviews.
Bishop Gerald Kicanas, DD opened the day with a blessing and hopes it will become an annual event for the Tucson community, said Benedictine Sister Kathleen Gorman, OSB. |
