A youth group from Our Lady Queen of All Saints visited the Benedictine Sisters’ Tucson, Arizona, Monastery last month to learn more about religious life.

Sister Patricia Vereb, OSB, Sister Josetta Grant, OSB and Sister Maria Victoria Cutia, OSB hosted the teens for a panel discussion about living a monastic life.

“We shared our vocation stories and the differences when entering before the Vatican II Council as opposed to how it is today,” Sister Maria Victoria said. “We talked about the discernment process and how it can be a helpful tool in religious life and also for life in general.” A short question and answer session followed.

The group, which included 25 youths and adults, joined the Sisters for Vespers and refreshments.

“I was impressed by how respectful and quiet they were,” Tucson Prioress Sister Ramona Varela, OSB said. “The group’s teacher comes to our chapel to pray, and the students were interested in learning more about us and our monastic life.”
