In October, Benedictine Sister of Perpetual Adoration Sarah Schwartzberg, OSB, congregational oblate director, traveled to Sand Springs, Oklahoma, the site of the Congregation’s former Osage Monastery, to participate in a Benedictine oblate meeting.
The Sand Springs oblate group meets regularly at Osage Forest of Peace, now an interspiritual contemplative retreat center, and continues to thrive and grow despite the absence of the Benedictine sisters.
The meeting was the group’s first after a summer break. The group chose to read and discuss “In the Heart of the Temple: My Spiritual Vision for Today's World” by Sister Joan Chittister, OSB, during the coming year. At the beginning of the meeting, Sister Sarah introduced herself, explained her role as director, offered her assistance to the group and asked for suggestions.
