Two Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration were among a group of religious honored by the the Diocese of Tucson on Sunday at St. Augustine Cathedral in celebration of their jubilees of consecrated life.

Sister Susan Huppe, OSB, Sister Joan Therese Anderson, OSB and eight fellow members of religious life were honored during the diocese’s annual Mass hosted to recognize those celebrating a major jubilee year. The Mass coincided with the conclusion of the Year of Consecrated Life.

Sister Susan and Sister Joan Therese are both celebrating their 60th jubilees of monastic profession. Others in attendance were honored for jubilees ranging from 25 to 70 years of religious life. Afterward, they took part in a luncheon sponsored by the diocese.

“The religious sisters and brothers serving our diocese provide dedicated and loving service to us in schools, parishes and other ministries, and it brings me great joy to celebrate them as they celebrate these milestones of service and conclude the year in which we had an opportunity to express our thanks for their ministry among us,” Tucson Bishop Gerald F. Kicanas wrote in his weekly memo to the diocese.
