Statement re: the closing of the BSPA monastery in Tucson, Arizona

The Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration have announced their decision to move toward closure of their monastery at 800 N. Country Club Rd. in Tucson, Arizona, within the next two years.

"The Tucson community has loved and embraced our Sisters since our arrival in 1935. It has been our privilege to serve the people of Tucson and the surrounding area for over 80 years, and it is with much reluctance that we have made this decision," Prioress General Sister Dawn Annette Mills, OSB said. “It has become necessary for our Sisters to return to the motherhouse in Missouri in order to consolidate and reorganize personnel and resources as we continue planning for our future. As preparations to close the monastery proceed, we hope to find ways to continue our connection to people in Tucson. We ask for your prayers during this transition, which is expected to take the next two years.”
