A symposium aimed at targeting ways for religious communities to further assist members in initial formation provided valuable information to the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration who attended last month.

Prioress General Sister Dawn Annette Mills, OSB, Formation Director Sister Pat Nyquist, OSB and Sister Maria Gara, OSB joined fellow religious members July 20-23 at the T4 Symposium at Saint Leo University in Florida.

According to Sister Dawn Annette, the event culminated a three-year program called Wisdom Connections: Timeless Traditions in Technological Times, which was funded by a grant from the GHR Foundation.

“T4 is a project that creates a video library on monastic topics that is available to Benedictines to use free of charge,” Sister Dawn Annette said. “The program also enables sisters in initial formation to form small support groups to build relationships across Benedictine federations.”

Sister Edith Bogue of the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minnesota, served as keynote speaker, focusing on lifelong learning as a forgotten monastic practice.
