Three Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration channeled their inner Shakespeare and took part in “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon!” produced and performed by Conception Seminary College. The play was a comedy that combined all 209 of the Grimm fairy tales into one production.

The Sisters each played various roles to help out with the mostly all-male cast. Prioress General Sister Dawn Annette Mills, OSB portrayed Enchantress, Gretel, the Devil’s Grandmother and Little Red. Sister Wilmarie Ehrhardt, OSB played the parts of Mother and Witch 1 and 2. Finally, Sister Maria Victoria Cutaia, OSB rounded out the cast as Rapunzel, Girl Without Hands and Grandma.

The Sisters traveled the short distance to nearby Conception Seminary College for play rehearsals and enjoyed the experience immensely.

“This was the first time I appeared onstage as someone other than myself, so it was a learning experience for me,” Sister Wilmarie said. “I also appreciated having time before each practice began to get to know the seminarian actors. We had several pleasant conversations, and it was nice to learn of their families and aspirations for their futures.”
