Statement regarding the changes in altar bread production by the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration 

“The pandemic, along with several other factors, has brought our religious community to re-examine our altar bread ministry. With sales and production reduced, it is no longer feasible for us to maintain such a large endeavor. Therefore, our community has made the decision to change our mode of altar bread operation.

Beginning later this year, we will cease production of regular altar breads. We will deepen our partnership with Cavanagh Company to supply sealed-edge altar breads to our customers. We will continue producing and distributing our own low-gluten altar breads, as we were the first Vatican-approved maker of such breads. We want to continue to provide altar breads to individuals, churches and parishes.

We hope our altar bread customers will continue to purchase their breads from us in order to support our ministry to pray for the Church and for the world.”
