Benedictine Sister of Perpetual Adoration Maria Victoria Cutaia, OSB joined fellow younger women religious for a biennial National Gathering hosted by Giving Voice.

The four-day conference was held in July in San Antonio and welcomed religious sisters age 50 and younger to celebrate the theme “Stir into Flame the Gift of Global Sisterhood.”

Giving Voice is a peer-led organization that strikes to create opportunities for younger women to give a voice to their hopes, dreams and challenges of living in religious life.

“This was the first time I attended the conference, and I enjoyed being around other younger women religious and to learn what is happening on the national level,” Sister Maria Victoria said. “It was wonderful to hear about others’ joys and challenges. We know there is hope for the future of religious life. It looks different from previous decades, such as the number of women entering, but we can adapt to that change by working collaboratively.”

Sister Maria Victoria is the vocation director for the Benedictine Sisters. She entered the congregation in 2007. She made her first monastic profession in 2010 and her final monastic profession in January 2014.
