The Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration have a full-time job opening for a L1MA at Our Lady of Rickenbach, the Sisters’ health care facility, in Clyde, Missouri.
Full-time shift is 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Position includes the following benefits: health insurance after 60 days of employment, dental and vision after 90 days, PTO after six months, 403(b) retirement savings and employer contributions. JOB DESCRIPTION: L1MA
Responsible to:
Nursing Supervisor, Charge Nurse
Job Summary: Sets up and administers medication as prescribed by physician and supervised by a licensed nurse. Performs all duties of a nursing assistant, providing physical and emotional care for Sisters when needed.
Essential Functions:
Sets up and administers medications, includes oral, rectal, eye drops, ointments, topical, etc.
Takes phone orders from physician
Provides direct care to the Sisters as needed. Assists with bathing, feeding, dressing, grooming and other duties
Practices good hand-washing and infection control techniques when providing care
Provides skin assessments at bathing time and reports any skin conditions or problems to Charge Nurse or Nursing Supervisor
Recognizes changes of condition in patients and notifies the Nursing Supervisor if no licensed personnel are present on their shift. The Nursing Supervisor and Sister Administrator will make the decision to notify the physician or plan for transport to a medical facility if indicated by patient condition
Performs all other duties listed under Nursing Assistant
Works as Charge Nurse as needed on night shift
Performs other duties as requested by Administrator, Nursing Supervisor or Charge Nurse
Requirements:
Must have an active L1MA or CMT certificate in state of Missouri
Must have an Insulin certificate
Must have experience as a Nursing Assistant
Management or supervisory skills preferred
Lift without restrictions 25-50 lbs., bending, stooping
Good communication skills
Compassion for elderly
Be able to pass a drug test |
