The Sisters also hosted a four-day silent retreat at its conclusion.

Mysticism and its relationship to God was explored during an October retreat for the Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration in Clyde, Missouri.

The Benedictine Sisters welcomed Pastor Brian Zahnd who led the four-day retreat titled “Mysticism Understood as an Encounter with God.”

Zahnd, who has been a friend to the Benedictine Sisters for more than a dozen years, is the founder and lead pastor of Word of Life Church in St. Joseph, Missouri. He is also a writer and popular blogger.

“Pastor Brian is alive with the Word of God and has a wide and gracious ecumenical spirit,” Sister Virginia Anne Argenziano, OSB said. “He inspires faith with deep insights into Scripture, both of the Hebrew Scriptures and of the Christian. His presentations draw listeners into new ways of seeing the Word of God, and he does so with reverence, zeal and witticism. He obviously loves the Lord and can convincingly share this with those he meets.”
