The Benedictine Sisters of Perpetual Adoration celebrated the 60th jubilee of monastic profession of Sister Ramona Varela, OSB on Sept. 12.

As a congratulations for her faithful commitment to monastic life, the community, family and friends gifted Sister Ramona and a friend with a retreat to Maria Rickenbach, the conregation's founding monastery in Switzerland.

“For three years, I had been taking an online language course to learn German, so I was able to pray with the sisters there,” Sister Ramona said. “I enjoyed God's beautiful creation to the fullest as humanly possible. The whole trip was a fantastic and memorable experience. My heart is overflowing with gratitude for so many blessings these 60-plus years.”
